Lydia Struyk Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 26, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Lydia Struyk (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), born in Primghar, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Struyk, Jr. and Dorothy Pieper Struyk; and her nephew-in-law Scott Kohlman. She is survived by: her siblings, John Struyk (Anant) of Nashville, TN and Marilyn Paddock (Chris) of Sioux Falls, SD; her stepsisters, Maureen Kuehl Haglund (Verle) of Perry and Coral Kuehl Sorenson (Randy) of Elkhart; her stepmother Mavis Parcel Kuehl Struyk; her nieces and nephews, Tina Struyk Kohlman, James Struyk (Marissa), Brad Snedeker (Lisa), Jonathan Snedeker (Jessica), Thomas Erronis (Elizabeth), Greg Haglund (Tina), Mollie Haglund Clark (Curtis), Jeffrey Haglund, Brent Sorenson (Amanda) and Jerry Sorenson (Alison); and her pets, Bandit and Olaf. She is also survived by friends, education, animals, especially her cats.
After her retirement, or so she thought, a final career started with the pandemic and schools closing where she got the great privilege to go back to her love of education to home school two of her great-nieces.
In honor of Ruth's love for animals, the family requests that donations be made to the Sioux Falls Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
