It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lorraine Pierce (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), born in Luverne, Minnesota, who passed away on October 18, 2019, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Victor and Winona Marie Wathen (Horrell); her siblings, Mary Kempenich (LeRoy), Thelma Westebur (Bud), Cecil Wathen (Sue) and Pat Dysthe (Doug); her grandchild Marti Pierce; and her great grandchildren, Jordan Pehnke and Cameron Van Wagner.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Pierce (Debbi), Marla Richard (Maury), Kathleen Piercemogen, Roger Pierce (Sandi), Roland Pierce (Mary), Rodney Pierce (Mary), Marleen Brown (Brad), Rory Pierce (Dee) and Jacqueline Humke (Kevin); her siblings, Bernadine Van Hoecke (Morris), Rita Paulsen (Bob) and Howard Wathen (Judy); her daughter-in-law Sandy Pierce (Rose); and also, Marie Wathen, Mildred Durant and Melvin Pierce. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 14+1 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to fighting cancer of any kind, Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools (teacher's wages and scholarship funds for needy families), and to the offering of Mass for family or individuals.
