He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Abraham Duerksen and Marie Duerksen (Willem); his siblings, Ewald, Albert, Arthur, Abraham, Herbert, Harry Duerksen, Elsie Lowen, Rozella Mackey, Tillie Dick and Marge Nelsen; and his grandson Joshua Duerksen.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Duerksen of Sioux Falls, SD; his children, Carla Hagena of Harrisburg, SD, Ryan Duerksen of Sioux Falls, SD, Russell Duerksen (Rhonda) of Sioux Falls, SD, Corwin Duerksen (Dawn) of Parker, SD and Kevin Duerksen (Kris) of Sioux Falls, SD; and his stepchildren, Mark Wieczorek of Sioux Falls, SD, Alan Wieczorek (Anne) of Sioux Falls, SD and Angela Openhowski (Thaddeus) of Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the George Boom Funeral Home (3408 E 10th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57103). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
