It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leland LeRoy McDowell of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on March 3, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence McDowell and Gladys McDowell (Witmershouse); and his siblings, Neil, Robert Dale and Donna Giesecke.
He is survived by: his former wives, Marcella Nighswonger and Eileen Hoffart; his wife Geri Hento of Sioux Falls; his children, Mark McDowell (Sarah) of Las Cruses, NM, Anne Galanis of Gallup, NM, Dana McDowell (Kristi) of Axtell, NE, Aaron McDowell (Tam) of Irmo, SC, Joel McDowell (Tammy) of Sioux Falls, SD and Paul McDowell (Tori) of Houston, TX.; his grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Adam, Ben, Samantha, Blake, Ethan, Nick, Austin, Andrew, Ellie, Claire, Maggie McDowell and Keradwen Sweeten; his stepchildren, Dale, Bruce Hoffart, Cindy Allison, Scott, Jeff Pedersoli and Jill Dillenburg; his sisters, Lois Hoppe and Kay Lush; and his sisters-in-law, Pat Buskohl, Muriel Kolasch and Cindy Kemp. He is also survived by Many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
