Lee Allen Van De Walle Obituary
E, was a self-proclaimed grill master, an avid outdoorsman, and Mr. Shiny when it came to his cars. More importantly to Lee, though, he was a father. Lee passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021. He was 58. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Southern Hills United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.
Lee was born on November 1, 1962, at Saint John's Hospital in Huron, South Dakota, to Connie and Clark. Lee spent much of his youth and teen years with friends and working to afford his dream car, a Ford Pinto and later, a Subaru Wagon. He attended Mitchell Technical College where he received a degree in architectural design and building construction.
Lee and his former spouse, Jane, raised two children — Gavin and Abby. Lee enjoyed a long career in the construction industry. When out of the office, Lee was either in a tree stand, walking cornfields, or exploring new trails on his four-wheeler with his close friends. Grateful for sharing his life are his son, Gavin (Stephanie) Van De Walle of Sioux Falls; daughter, Abby Van De Walle of Sioux Falls; his mother, Connie Van De Walle of Yankton, SD; his father, Clark (Sandra) Van De Walle of Yankton, SD; sister, Holly (Steve) Barczak of Chicago, IL; nephew, Stevie Barczak of Chicago, IL; niece, Ellie Barczak of Chicago, IL; and many friends and colleagues.
