She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Scott and Lorraine Scott (Ryan) of Niobrara; and her son Ryan Merkel of Yankton. She is survived by: her husband Robert Hornstra of Sioux Falls; her children, Stacy Dryak (Brian) of Omaha and Curtis Merkel of Portland, Oregon; and her grandchildren, Cole Scott Dryak and Kendra Nedved.
