Dains and Elizabeth Dains (Behrendt); his daughter Mary Rose; and his siblings, Alva Dains (Vivian), Vernon "Bruz" Dains, Earl Jr. (Evelyn Dains), Donald Dains (Gwen), Marvin Dains (Helen), Darlyne Dains, Nadine Dirks (Pat) and Noreen "Dolly" Ortman (Eugene).
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Teresa Ruppert; his children, Tom Dains (Kathy) of Sioux Falls, SD, Jeff Dains (Anna) and Cindy Thie (Ted) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Jonathan Thie, Jordan Thie, Olivia Dains and Colin Dains; his sister Geri Dains; and his sister-in-law Ramona Hybertson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
