He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Burrell R. Ernst Jr.; his brother John Ernst; and his brother-in-law Ronald Schock. He is survived by: his mother Doris L. Ernst (Moe) of Sioux Falls, SD; his siblings, Sarah Schock of Sioux Falls, SD, William Ernst of Minneapolis, MN and Sally Watton-Holcomb (Michael) of Baytown, TX; his nephews, Gabe (Tiffany) and Aaron; his great-nieces, Riley, Madison and Madelyn; and his great-nephew Jake.
