He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Schmidt and Marlys Schmidt (Christianson). He is survived by: his wife Denise Schmidt of Sioux Falls, SD; his children, Aaron Schmidt of Willmar, MN, Isabelle Barrett, Sylus, Spencer Schmidt and Lynsey Schadt of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Gunnar Schmidt, Bruce Schadt and Charlotte Parks; and his siblings, Kim O'Dowd (Dan) of Brooklyn Park, MN, Todd Schmidt (Laura) and Troy Schmidt (Cloie) of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
