It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Richard Odney of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Mayville, North Dakota, who passed away on October 21, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf "Ole" Odney and A. Marie Odney (Bergsaker); his brother Keith Odney; and his sister-in-law Virginia Odney. He is survived by: his sister Gretchen Hofland (Rod) of Apple Valley, MN.
In lieu of flowers, John's family requests that memorials be directed to the John Odney Scholarship Fund for the benefit of Washington High School Athletics, the Ole and Marie Odney Endowed Scholarship at Augustana University, or First Lutheran Church.
