She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond McKittrick and Eileen Kightlinger McKittrick; and her siblings, Harold McKittrick, Carol Jean Witter and Sharon Birchem.
She is survived by: her husband Palmer; her children, Peggy Robbins (Steve) of Eldora, IA, Thomas Heckel (Cindy) of Sioux Falls, Tammy Larson (Lydell) of Sioux Falls and Paul Heckel (Lenora) of Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Stephanie Boeding (Jay), Erin Campbell (Doug), Nick Robbins (Karla), Amanda McCurley (Dan), Robert Heckel (Jennifer), Scott Heckel (Melissa), Kristin Dwire (Andrew), Michelle Benck (Josh), Kathryne Studer (Jake), Layne Larson (Kaci Meddings) and Emma Heckel; her great grandchildren, Xavier, Leo Boeding, Molly, Nora Campbell, Avalyn, Elaina, Danielle, Kathryn Robbins, Teigen Heckel, Phoenix Heckel, Avery, Adeline Heckel, Camden, Adriana Studer, Mabel, Harriet McCurley, Connor, Abel Dwire and Evelyn Benck; and her sisters, Kay Slama (Phil) of Theodora, AL, Patsy Hill (Bob) of St. Paul, MN, Rae Ann Marpe of Hopkins, MN and Nancy Granica of Luck, WI. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joanne was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2003 and in 2009, she and Palmer moved to Sioux Falls.
