He is survived by: his wife Berniece Zangle; his sons, Robert Mayer (Wendy) of Spearfish, SD, Thomas Mayer (Debra Filer) of Plymouth, MN, Steven Mayer (Patti) of Sioux Falls and David Mayer of Underwood, IA; his grandsons, Chris, Justin, Nick, Tony, Eric, Adam, Cole and Jonathan; his sister Cleo Mayer of Oakland, CA; and his brother-in-law Duane Rippe of Cedar Falls, IA..
