He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Collins and Elizabeth Collins (Sweeney); his daughter Jill Nordquist; and his siblings, Jack, Donnie Collins, Kathy and Mary Therese.

He is survived by: his former wife Judith Shoemaker; his children, John Collins of Sioux Falls, SD, Julia Collins (Dave Hrusovsky) of Sioux Falls, SD, Jackie Collins of Omaha, NE, Jeanne Collins of Las Vegas, NV and Jessica Collins of Minneapolis, MN; his grandchildren, Pat Collins, Carson and Clayton Hrusovsky; his great grandchild Carter Collins; and his brothers, Jim Collins (Colleen) of Vancouver, WA and Pat Collins (Trudy) of Elko, NV..
