He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sr. and Evelyn; and his siblings, John, Carla and Cheryl.
He is survived by: his children, Tyler Hockett (Amber) and Carissa Shinstine (Michael); his grandchildren, Carlee Hockett, Tucker Hockett, Halle Shinstine and Annie Shinstine; and his siblings, Robert Jr. (Jeannie), Joe, Ernie (Kris), Rich (Amy), Sandy Mosteller (Daniel) and Anna Nessethand (Daniel). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Northridge Baptist Church (323 W 23rd Ave, Mitchell, SD 57301).
His family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, to consider helping with a memorial headstone.
