He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd "Jim" and Ruth Olsen (Riley); his son James Roger Olsen, Jr.; his stepson Michael Rolf; his grandson Tanner Olsen; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Olsen and Philip Pense.
He is survived by: his former wife Janet Hauge; his wife Lenna Olsen; his children, Jeffrey Olsen (Jackie), Jana Overweg (Lyndon), Jonna DeHaan (Lee) and Jodene Foxley (Joel); his stepson Marcus Rolf (Melissa); his daughters-in-law, Jelene Wipf (Ray) and Dana Stranger (Tracey); his grandchildren, Brooklynn Fobbs, Jeanne Acheson (Dustin), Jacey Richardson (Michael), James Olsen III (Tess) and Jeb Olsen; his brother Gary Olsen (Cindi); his sister-in-law Jo Vaughn (Derald); and also, Michael and Marcus Rolf.
