He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Baker and Marion Baker (Conley); and his brother John. He is survived by: his wife Cele; his children, Matthew Baker (Deb Husby) and Julie Newton (Lew Bowles); his granddaughters, Ellie Grace Newton and Nicole Harp; his sister Connie Swarthout (Craig); and his brothers-in-law, Tim Cadieux and James Van Osdel. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home – Southside (7400 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). A prayer was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (7400 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (3601 E Dudley Ln, Sioux Falls, SD 57103). The military honors was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery (25965 477th Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104).
