It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Darkow (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), who passed away on June 11, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Smith and Grace Smith (Whaley); her stepfather Gerald Thiel; and her sister Mary Smith. She is survived by: her children, Marci Berens (Tim), Theodore Darkow (Brenda) and Beth Berens (Jason Feldman); her grandchildren, Matthew Berens, Alexis Darkow, Samantha Darkow and Rachel Berens; and her stepbrothers, Rod Thiel (Theresa) and Bob Thiel (Gail).
