It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harlan Olson (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), who passed away on May 21, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Olson and Grace Olson (Getman); his former wife Evelyn Olson (Wollman); his brother Lavaine Olson; his siblings-in-law, Dennis Otten and Betty Olson; and his parents-in-law, Mary, John Wollman, Elgin, Melba Wollman, Anna (Wollman), Emil Hofer, Harris, Kay Wollman, Dawn Wollman, Wilmer Koerner, Richard Hoebelheinrich and Duayne Koerner.
He is survived by: his wife Delphine Kurtz (Koerner); his children, Sherrie Strand (Quentin) of Gillette, WY, Darrell Olson (Loey) of Chancellor, SD, Keith Olson of Sioux Falls, SD, Barry Olson (Darla) of Chancellor, SD and Kristie Fiegen (Tim) of Sioux Falls, SD.; his stepchildren, Kim Chatwell (Bill) of Sioux Falls, SD and Jeff Kurtz (Susie) of Canton, SD; his siblings, Anita Otten of Sioux Falls, SD and Dale Olson; his sister-in-law Jean Stadtfelt; his mother-in-law Leona Koerner (Streyle); and his siblings-in-law, Dorothea Hoebelheinrich, Delano Koerner (Erlene), Darrell Koerner (Carol) and Darwin Koerner (Sherry).
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held next week with burial and military honors at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker, SD.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may have checks written to the Olson Family Faith Fund or be sent to the South Dakota Community Foundation at PO Box 296, Pierre, SD 57501 where the fund will be established.
