He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hanson and Janelle Hanson (Peterson); and his brother Richard Hanson. He is survived by: his wife Zoila Del Carmen; his children, Rodrigo (Danielle McClure), Joshua, Chris, Bill, Heather, Jennifer and Michelle; his brother Rolland Hanson; and his sister-in-law Lorraine Hanson.
