She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Simunek and Anna Simunek (Knapp); her husband Ralph M. Schmidt; and her brothers, Raymond and Eugene Simunek.
She is survived by: her sons, Jeff (Lisa), Sioux Falls, Patrick (Simantha) and Greg (Patty); her siblings, Harold Simunek of Inwood, IA, Edith Thomas of Mount Vernon, WA and Dorothy Jorgenson; and her grandchildren, Christina, Justin, Andrew, Amanda and Brandon. She is also survived by many nieces, and nephews.
