It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Buchholz (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), who passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Buchholz and Bertha Buchholz (Guthmiller); his former wife Maria Buchholz; his granddaughter Geri Maria Buchholz; his brothers, Don and Rudy Buchholz; his brother-in-law Danny Nyreen; and his niece Mary Nyreen.
He is survived by: his son David; his child-in-law Tracey Buchholz (SF); his grandchildren, Cassie, Jeff Moser of Lester, IA and Alyssa Buchholz; his great grandchild Kyler Moser; his children, Shawn Buchholz (SF) and Lisa Yarber (SF); his grandchildren, Jeanette Jenkins (SF), Jonathan Jenkins (SF) and Joshua Jenkins (SF); and his sisters, Arleen Nyreen of Sioux City, IA and Lillian Hauck (Oregon). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home (901 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery (25965 477th Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104).
