It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gaylord Hanson (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), born in Columbia, South Dakota, who passed away on December 13, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Norwood Hanson and Loree Theda-Marie Hammond; his former wife Virgie Gladys Hanson; and his siblings, Tab Scott Hanson, Rex Lanny Hanson, Mark Lamar Hanson, Loree Ann Hanson, Lovell Noreen Dahl and Dana Jill Hanson.

He is survived by: his children, Gayla Jo Hanson, Rhonda Loree Ortez (Bill), Janelle Joy Marra, Orianne Rae Weir (Adam), Collin Gaylord Hanson (Cassie), Preston Kale Hanson (Ashley) and Hayley Brooke Grover (Bryan); his stepchildren, Marissa Pineda (Julio) and Matthew Genta; and his uncle Kim. He is also survived by grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

I’ll miss his good Advice he gave me on important issues in life. I will also miss the good times we had when we got together. He had a great sense of humor that I’ll miss too.
