He is survived by: his children, Jodi Reel (Tom) of Sioux Falls, SD, Kelly Grossman (Josh) of Byron, MN and James Hartje (Lauren) of Monrovia, MD; his grandson Dave Hayes (Holly) of Anchorage, AK; his sisters, Marlene Boetteger (Clarence) of Hamilton, ND, Judy Ill (Carlton) of Cavalier, ND and Joanne Rassmussen (Rodger) of Crystal, ND; his sister-in-law Gwen Hartje; his brother Scott Hartje of Cavalier, ND; and his grandchildren, Jack, Harmony, Heidi, Grace, William, Jonathan, Matthew, Claire, Aubrey, Nathan, Mark, Haakon, Mazzie, Graham and Tate.
