He was predeceased by: his parents, Caryl Stewart and Auley Stewart; his former wife Rita Frederes; his brothers, Caryl and Jimmie Stewart; his niece Kerri Hartman; and his nephew Justin Stewart.
He is survived by: his wife Bonita Kempel; his children, Kim Messerschmidt (Steve), Kelly Peterson (Todd) and Gary Dean Stewart (Cindy); his grandchildren, Danielle (Greg), Drew Messerschmidt (Ally), Kelsey Harris (Brandon), Alex (Kelsy), Landon Peterson, Jordan (Lena), Riley and Sidney Stewart; his great grandchildren, Sawyer and Lawson Harris; and his sisters, Bonnie Prosser (Mike) and Joann Kleinberg.
