It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Frank R. Turk Sr. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Hibbing, Minnesota, who passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his pet Jenny; his children, Frank W. Turk, Jr. (Rosa), Marianne Doremus (Erik) and Michael Turk (Brenda); his grandchildren, Gabriella Ortiz Turk, Frank Turk, Jr., Benjamin Turk, Ryan, Toby Doremus, Michele and Tim Turk; his wife Marilyn Grenell (Zahrbock); and also Bernice Turk (Barlow).
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church (5509 W 41st St, Sioux Falls, SD 57106). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 4:15 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Gallaudet University (800 Florida Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Association of the Deaf and Youth Leadership Camp Foundation.
