He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Ellston and Lyda Ellston (Helsing); and his siblings, Arthur Jr., Verne, Chuck, Pat Determan, Gladys Allen and Bethene Schmidt.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Gall; his son David; his sister Doris Fryda; his grandchildren, Jessica "Crumrine" Rezac and Austin Crumrine; and his great grandchild Tate Crumrine.
