It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fern Omanson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Hartford, South Dakota, who passed away on February 24, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gustav Rubin and Bertha Rubin (Leisinger); her husband Wilbur Omanson; her siblings, George Rubin, Clarence Rubin and Ruby Canfield; her stepdaughter Linda Bents (George) of Worthington, MN; her stepson-in-law Bob Thompson; and her grandson Mark Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Dirks and Barb Smith (Doug) of Sioux Falls; her stepdaughter Wanda Thompson (Bob) of Minot, ND; her granddaughter Melissa Moix-Montjoy (Ed); and her stepgrandchildren, Steve Bents (Barb), Jerry Bents (Tracie), Kim Gronewold (Corey), Mark Thompson (Jenn) and Kari Faul (Kenny).
The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Union Gospel Mission.
