She was predeceased by: her parents, Tilda Hanson and Thomas Hanson; and her grandson Zach (Zacharoo). She is survived by: her husband Charles Nelson; her children, Tom and Shelly (Doug); and her grandchildren, Jessica (Dusty), Nick, Hailey and Chelsea. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (4800 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Linwood Wesleyan Church (1101 E 57th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57108).
