He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Peterson and Ida Peterson (Collins); his wife Shirley Carstensen; his siblings, Ruth Brower (Ray), Ernest Peterson (Maxine), Lee Peterson (Mary Ann) and Rose (Wally Seefeldt); and his brother-in-law Gerald Carstensen (Elvera).
He is survived by: his children, Rickie Peterson (Charlene) of Willow Lake, Bonnie Mogen (Bruce) of Dell Rapids, Randy Peterson (Kelli) of Huron and Rebecca Mair (Bradley) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Christa Harper (John) of Watertown, Cole Peterson of Brookings, Spencer Peterson of Huron, Brett Mogen of Brookings, Brooklyn and Boston Mair of Sioux Falls; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Emma Harper.
