It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elmer Goetz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, who passed away on March 5, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Goetz and Katherine Goetz (Deis); his wife Aileen Ann Ahern; his brother Leonard; and his sisters-in-law, Ann (Joe) and Jean (Elroy).
He is survived by: his children, Laura Lueck Sioux (Ed), Terry Goetz Sioux (Patty), Jeanne Goetz Macdoel (Marcus Lerch) and Dan Goetz Aberdeen (Joanna); his grandchildren, Danielle Goetz, Jameson Goetz, Franz Lerch, Ethan Case, Olivia Goetz and Gabe Goetz; and his siblings, Joe Goetz, Elroy Goetz, Jerome Goetz (Linda), Jim Goetz (Angie) and Betty Ellwein (Don). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed towards the Northern State University Elmer and Aileen Goetz Scholarship Endowment or the Aberdeen Catholic School System Goetz Family Memorial Scholarship.
