With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elaine L Schmidt of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Geneva, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 9, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Elaine departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Elaine may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Elaine leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Lauenstein and Alma Lauenstein (Lentfer); and her daughter Susanne Schmidt (Reuben Schmidt). She is survived by: her sons, Edward Schmidt, Kenneth Schmidt, John Schmidt (Karon) and Fred Schmidt; her grandchildren, Quentin Schmidt and Megan Ferritto (Donald); and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Peyton and Trinity.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery (119 S East St, Wonewoc, WI 53968).
