It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Gottlieb Lewis (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Edward Gottlieb may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Lewis and Irene Lewis; and his daughter Theresa (Matson). He is survived by: his siblings, Lloyd Jr. (Jane), Thomas (Vida), Donald and Linda; and his children, Tamara Ptacek (Phil), Deborah Stumpf (Brian), Edward II Lewis (Kari), Angela (David) and Bonnie Bunger (Layne). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 9 great- grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home (901 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104). A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery (25965 477th Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104).
