He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dalton and Anna Dalton (Gallisath); and his brother Keith Dalton. He is survived by: his wife Angela Geary; his son Nathan; his grandchild Caitlin; his children, Justin Dalton of Sioux Falls, SD, Kelly Dalton of Huntington Beach, CA and Caitlin Dalton of Sioux Falls, SD; his siblings, Marlin Dalton (Barb) of Amherst, NH, Ken Dalton (Marilynn) of Littleton, CO, Lowell Dalton (Barb) of Clark, SD, Sharon Sonnenfeld (Quenton) of Golden, CO, Carol Hanten (Jerry) of Webster, SD and Donna Johnson (Steve) of Watertown, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Terry Geary (Mireya), Gail Geary, Wayne Geary (Jill), Bruce Geary (Cindy), Randy Geary, Kent Geary (Susanne), Brian Geary and Glenna Remington (Larry). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts.
