He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. J. W. and Zorah E. Torbert (Godfrey); his stepmother Lillie Torbert; his brothers, James, George and Kenneth; and his stepdaughter Jennifer Rice.
He is survived by: his children, Bart Torbert (Laurie) of Rapid City, SD, Chris Torbert (Patti) of Sioux Falls, JoDee Kluck (Mike) of Watertown, SD and Tonya Tanner (Don) of Gettysburg, SD; his stepson Timothy Rice (Cathy) of Peoria, IL; and his daughter Rebecca Behnke (Austin) of Lake City, MN. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
