He was predeceased by: his parents, Claus Boetel and Margaret Boetel (Rieck); and his sisters, Phyllis Boetel, Carole Larson, Betty Foos and Margo Love.
He is survived by: his wife Lorna Boetel of Sioux Falls; his sons, Michael Boetel (Marie Reichert) of Sioux Falls and Thomas Boetel (Kerry Egglesfield) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Paige, Lincoln, Kiah, Keira, Maeve, Nora and Shay; his brother Bruce Boetel (Mary Eichstadt) of Brookings, SD; and his brothers-in-law, Tony Larson of Carson City, NV and James Love of Huron, SD..
