He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty Ronke Kilpatrick of Sioux Falls; his children, Mary Owen Wingen (Tim) and Mike Owen (Shannon) of Yankton, SD; his grandsons, Chase Anderson and Garrett Owen; his siblings, Leo Kilpatrick of Minneapolis, MN, Avis Stangland (Oscar) and June Thomas; his son Dallas; his siblings, Helen Mae, Elda Mae and Maynard; and also Sioux Falls.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Sunny Crest Village Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Betty Ronke Kilpatrick, Sioux Falls; his daughter Mary Owen Wingen and her husband Tim, Sioux Falls, a son Mike Owen and his wife Shannon, Yankton, SD; 2 grandsons, Chase Anderson and Garrett Owen, both of Florida; his siblings, Leo Kilpatrick, Minneapolis, MN, Avis (Oscar) Stangland, Clarkfield, MN, and June Thomas, Lincoln, NE.
