He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hamner and Justine Hamner (Devaan); his parents-in-law, Peter and Edith Nolting; his brother Norman Hamner; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Nolting and David Nolting.
He is survived by: his friend Rodger Brandt; his wife Grace Nolting of Clinton; his children, Gail Hamner of Tampa, FL, Mark Hamner of Minneapolis, Allan Hamner of Minneapolis and Amy Hefner (Jason) of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Shelby Hamner, Isabelle, Grayson and Cole Hefner; and his siblings, Gale of Moorhead, Leo of Graceville, Mary Ellen of Wilmot and Paulette Garoutte (Dennis) of Chokio. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
