He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Kopp and Nellie Kopp (Decker); his sister Mary Pat Soder; and his siblings-in-law, Pam, Deb Hoffman, Bob Rochel and James Courtney.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia of Sioux Falls; his son Kevin Kopp (Carie) of Sioux Falls; his grandsons, Alex, Nic and Kaedyn; and his siblings, Carol Courtney of Texas, Barbara Sauter (Dwight) of Nevada, Susan Carson (Leon) of Iowa, Michael Kopp (Mary) of Utah and John Kopp (Kathie) of North Dakota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation to Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools.
