He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Winkler Kearns (George) and John Donald Kearns (Mary); and his siblings, Donnie Kearns and Maureen Hansen. He is survived by: his wife Lori Meagher; his children, Tara Emerson (John) of Pembina, ND, Trista Cole (Riley) of Sioux Falls, SD and Patrick Kearns of Sioux Falls, SD.; and his grandchildren, Evan Emerson (Haley), Preston, Audrey, Isla Emerson, Zavier ManyRibs, Brentley Cole and Elijah Kearns.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 701 Main St W, Cavalier, ND 58220.
