He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hacking and Joyce Hacking (Boyd); his brother Richard Hacking, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Kraig Krehbiel. He is survived by: his spouse Kathy Mehlhaf (Krehbiel); his daughter Karman Vanden Burg (Cameron); his brother-in-law Randy Krehbiel (Cindy); his nieces and nephews, Keri Flint (Dale) of Rapid City, SD, Tyler Krehbiel, Cole Krehbiel and Scott Hacking; and his sister-in-law Faye Krehbiel.
