He is survived by: his wife Joan Cota of Sioux Falls; his daughters, Tracy Teerink (Aaron) of Sioux Falls and Andrea Powell (Sean) of Sioux Falls; his granddaughters, Elizabeth, Cora Teerink and Sydney Powell; his siblings, David Cota (Judy) of McKinney, TX, Dan Cota (Ronda) of Dacula, GA, Steve Cota of Sioux Falls, Mike Cota (Deb) of Sioux Falls, John Cota (Lynn) of Minneapolis, MN and Beth Kosse (Karl) of St. Joseph, MO; and his sister-in-law Denise Cota of Bloomington, MN.
