He is survived by: his mother Caroline Kreps (Plowman); his former wife Jo Ann Kooy; his son Danny; his wife Jolene Samlaska; his children, Jonathan Kreps (Joni), Justin Samlaska, Dan Samlaska (Amanda) and Lindsey Auch (Caleb); his grandchildren, Colten Carlson (Emily), Clay Carlson (Olivia), Jack, Kallie, Lydia Kreps, Andrew, Noah, Janey Jarett, Savannah Jernberg, Kaeleigh Nohava, Maddie, Teagan Samlaska, Jamie, Lizzie, Kenzie, Addie Samlaska, Charlie, Evie and Isaiah Auch; his sisters, LeAnn Ouwinga (Steve), Roxanne Stryker (Dave) and Kristi Steinbauer (Rainer); and his sister-in-law Linda Kreps.
