It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carrie Louise Koury of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Marion, South Dakota, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville "Ole" Oleson and Genevieve "Cheb" Oleson (Witt); her siblings, Patricia Johnson, LeAnn Oleson and Ronald Oleson; and her grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Townsend.
She is survived by: her husband Lawrence A. Wingen; her former husband Joseph M. Koury; her children, Jodi Verhey (Brett), Randy Townsend of Canistota, SD and Tim Wingen (Mary); and her brothers, Larry Oleson of Sioux Falls, SD and Dean Oleson of Port Orchard, WA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Ava's House, the Sioux Falls Humane Society or the charity of the senders choice in Carrie's honor.
