She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Charles and Violet Laurel; her husbands, Richard C. Johnson and William "Bill" G. Legel; her siblings, Donna, Patricia, Margaret, Robert, John and Michael; and her son-in-law Robert Johnson.

She is survived by: her children, William "Billy", Rebecca Clinton (George Hamilton), Toni Johnson, Billy Legel (Heather) of Sioux Falls, SD, Tom Johnson of Rapid City, SD and John Legel (Lisa) of Omaha, NE; her siblings, Lance McClaren of Omaha, NE and Grace Weeg of Sioux Falls, SD; and her stepsons, Timothy Legel (Judy) of Spearfish, SD and Mitchell Legel (Sue) of Edmonds, WA.

She made and bedazzled purses from old jeans and hundreds of "Pen Posies" that she sold at her friend's barber shop with profits donated to the World Hunger fund at St John Church.
