He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ahrens and Margaret Ahrens (Anderson); his daughter Bridget Lee; his granddaughter Thera Sherman (Ahrens); his sisters, Corrine Wilcox and LaVonne Oberbroeckling; and his daughter-in-law Michelle Ahrens (VanderPol).
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his sons, Don Ahrens (Gail), Doug Ahrens (Kim), Craig Ahrens (Jean), Mark Ahrens (Pat), Brad Ahrens (Karen), Robert Ahrens (Kathy Godfrey) and David Ahrens; and his brother Norman Ahrens of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
