It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty A. Newberg of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on November 22, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Minnie Thompson (Falk) and Edwin Thompson; her husband Warren "Stretch" Newberg; and her siblings, Cleo Eneboe, Gene Thompson, Mavis Backer, Bob Thompson, Faye Bowden and Phyllis Osvog.
She is survived by: her daughters, Terri Smith (Dan) of Montrose, SD, Traci Rovang (Kevin) and Toni Cranny (Tim); her grandchildren, Mark Smith (Jill) of Woodbury, MN, Michael Smith (Kelsey Quickstad), Megan Rovang, Nick Rovang, Lizzy Nelson (Charlie) and Jake Cranny; her great grandchildren, Ben, Harry, Sam Smith and Rocco Nelson; and her sister Ellen Doese. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
