She was predeceased by: her parents, August Abelbeck and Clara Abelbeck (Kettelhut); her husband Martin Edward Matthiesen; her siblings, Ervin (Mabel), Lloyd Abelbeck (Gleniss) and Gladys Schlaifer (Rueben); and her daughter Marsha Matthiesen.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Fish of Sioux Falls and Mark Matthiesen (Joani) of Escondido, CA; and her grandchildren, Allen Slaughter (Angela) of Minneapolis, MN, Ayanna Coleman (Jeffery) of Edina, MN, Sara Matthiesen of Rocklin, CA, Jakob Matthiesen of Rocklin, CA and Elisha Fish of Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John American Lutheran Church (1913 W 13th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57104). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
