He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Knutson and Gladys Knutson (Berge). He is survived by: his wife Marcia Anderberg; his children, Tammy Wiese (Jeff) of Hermosa, SD and Terry Knutson (Julia) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Jennifer Laatsch (Levon), Corey Knutson (Jade), Laura Robinson (Andrew) and Aimee Knutson; and his sister Kay Thormodsgard (Doug). He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Aside from his family, the other loves of his life included golf, hunting, and his contributions to his community through various service organizations.
