She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Vanderwerf and Grace Vanderwerf (Meinders); her brothers, Sam, Harry and Pete Vanderwerf; and her siblings-in-law, Alvin Brower, Richard Nelson, John Fluit and Dorothy Vanderwerf.

She is survived by: her husband Paul Frank De Young; her sons, Chester De Young (Diane) and Jeff De Young (Chris); her grandsons, Austin, Jason, Michael and Matthew (Kathryn); her siblings, John Vanderwerf, Lena Brower, Shirley Nelson, Alice Fluit and Mary Vandekeift (Mike); and her sisters-in-law, Marlys Vanderwerf and Betty Vanderwerf.
