It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvera Frances Petersen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Bonesteel, South Dakota, who passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Jons and Hilda Jons; her husband Richard Petersen; her daughter Julie Petersen; her brother LeRoy Jons; and her siblings-in-law, Aldrew Schochenmaier, Marlo Jons (LeRoy) and JoAnn Jons (Kenneth).
She is survived by: her friend Carolyn; her children, Lynn Toben (Delbert) of Sioux Falls, Douglas Petersen (Leslie) of Vail, AZ and Melanee Veach (Scott) of Harrisburg, SD; her grandchildren, Mathew Burton (Sallie Lucke), Darcy Jackson (Dustin), Cameron Toben (Edina), Philip Toben and Shelby Arbuckle (Dustin); her great grandchildren, Zeya Burton, Rohan Jackson, Adelynn Johnson and Alucard Arbuckle; and her siblings, Marjorie Schochenmaier (Aldrew) of Bonesteel, SD and Kenneth Jons (JoAnn) of St Paul, NE. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.
